…at Your Pet’s First Appointment
When you arrive, you’ll be checked in by our friendly reception staff. We ask that you please have your dogs leashed and under control when you arrive, and for their safety, have cats in a carrier. If you have previous veterinary records for your pet, you can give them to us at this time. You can also let us know the name and contact information for your previous veterinarian at the time you make your appointment, and we can call and have those records sent to us.
Our hospital is focused on preventative care, so we always recommend that our patients have a wellness check-up annually. (Puppies, kittens, and seniors may need more frequent visits.) Annual wellness check-ups include a full nose-to-tail physical exam as well as a dental exam.
It’s always helpful if you can share your pet’s past history, medical and otherwise with the veterinarian—and that includes behavioral changes. Our knowledgeable veterinarians can work with whatever information you have, but the more background the better.
Depending on the doctor’s findings, he or she may make recommendations for diagnostic testing, preventative care, or treatments. Feel free to ask any questions about our recommendations. We will always provide you with an estimate and get your approval before proceeding.
In some circumstances, the veterinarian may refer you to a specialist who has advanced expertise in areas such as internal medicine or surgery.
Please don’t hesitate to call us at (970) 667-9230 if you have any questions or concerns prior to your first appointment!
