A native of Baton Rouge Louisiana, Dr. Wiltz received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Louisiana State University in 1986. He has enjoyed 20 years of varied practice experience including three years at Churchill Downs (Louisville, Kentucky ) and Oaklawn racetracks, two years with Northern Virginia horse farms, nine years in small animal medicine in Metairie, Louisiana, and two years in emergency medicine in Boulder, Colorado.

In 2002, Dr. Wiltz purchased Big Thompson Animal Hospital, thus fulfilling a life-long goal to provide exceptional animal care in a compassionate, friendly, small-town setting.
